Color is one of the most important parts of a website. A bad color scheme can put a user off immediately, or it can make them understand your website immediately. If used correctly, colors can really set the mood for a website.

Every web and graphic designer should pay careful attention when creating a color palette for a website or logo. This great infographic by Andy Crofford from Test King is a perfect demonstration of when to use what color. Of course, there is wiggle room. If every website in an industry used the exact same colors, it would get boring. However, it is great food for thought when designing a color palette.

I thought it was summed up perfectly by the opening paragraph of the infographic.

“Color plays a major role in our visual perception as it influences our reactions about the world around us.”
